A new company has set up selling caravan holiday-homes in France

15th October 2009

SkyBlue Leisure Homes Ltd, is a UK company specialising in the sale of caravan holiday-homes and lodges to British people who are looking for a second home overseas.

SkyBlue’s director, James Thew, previously worked for several UK manufacturers as overseas sales associate, but had always planned to set up his own company.

“I learnt a lot during my time working for other companies, about the dos and don’ts – primarily, look after your customers well and carefully choose the parks and manufacturers that you work with,” said James.

“I now work with parks in the Vendée, Brittany, Normandy, the Charente department and Dijon, in The picturesque parks in Burgundy. Other parks in other areas of France will follow later in the year and next year I plan to offer Scandinavia, too. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not always cold there!”

France, most of which are open all year round, have generous sized plots, and are situated near to towns but not necessarily ‘amongst the action’ with the scent of suntan lotion hanging heavily in the air.

“Having a second home in France doesn’t necessarily need to be an

expensive purchase despite the £ to € rate,” James added. “Buying a UK-built leisure home from a UK company, in sterling, means that you don’t lose out on the exchange rate. Ground rents and other spends locally will still be in Euros.” James, who is fluent in French, is based in France, which he says is ideally located for travelling to meet potential clients.
