Live the dream all year round in South Vendée

1st July 2009

Domaine des Forges is a unique and picturesque park, this was recently recognised by the prestigious "Castels" group of which it has recently become a member. The owners Thierry and Cathy Pacteau are proud of the park's character and welcoming nature.

The park is developed around a 16th century Manor House and sits on 14 hectares of land in a calm setting. The reception, bar, small restaurant and games area were designed to integrate tastefully into the Manor House's grounds. There is a fishing lake, heated outdoor pool, tennis court and crazy golf course. Couples or families with young children will feel equally at home.

The park is just two years old, open-all year round and contains 140 pitches. Plots average over 200 m_ but many are much larger. All pitches are equipped with broadband internet access and satellite television. Avrillé, the nearest town, is just a leisurely 10 minute walk and the most beautiful beaches in the Vendée are only a 4 mile drive. The Vendée caters for a variety of tastes. Whilst the coastline is idyllic, we would also recommend the market towns of La Roche Sur Yon, Challans, Fontenay Le Comte and of course "La Venise verte" (or green Venice!).

Domaine des Forges is well located for those interested in other activities such as water sports, museums, zoos, golf and the renowned "Puy du Fou" theme park. The nearest ferry port is St Malo (about 3 hours 15 mins by car) and Nantes and La Rochelle airports are ideally located.

Sounds like bliss? Well, we think so! SkyBlue look after the purchase of your home from the manufacturer, organise the transport, ensure the home is properly installed and that any special requirements you may have are taken care of. They are a British registered company with close relationships with their parks and a good knowledge of the area. Don't forget that if you purchase a British manufactured leisure home the current high value of the Euro against the Pound would notimpact you as it would on property (generally bought in Euro) - that's good to know!
